What makes a good party marquee?

I have installed thousands of marquees over the years and I can tell you I have pretty much seen it all when it comes to party marquees. This experience has, after all, helped us become the number one party marquee company in Cheshire and the North West.

Now not every marquee hire service is like ours so you will need to be careful when considering a party marquee for that special event. Who you hire that marquee from can make all the difference to the occasion and, to put it not too bluntly, the difference between a triumphant event to remember and a soggy letdown.

One of the first things to check when hiring your marquee is whether it will be fit to stand up to the weather. A good party marquee will be weatherproof up to a point unless you have a particularly stormy day with high winds. The quality tents will certainly keep the rain off those inside and ensure your guests are comfortable for the duration of your event.

Being dry overhead is one thing of course but one potential mistake nobody should make with their party marquee is to neglect the floor. This means your marquee should be placed in an area that isn’t exposed to flooding. such as at the bottom of a slope.

There is a good chance that your party will also be full of ladies wearing heels and they’re not going to want to be sinking into the ground while they enjoy their cocktails and canapes. It is essential therefore to have a good temporary floor to your marquee that will accommodate all your guests.

As we can’t always rely on warm weather in the UK – even in summer – it is wise to have some form of heating included and installed by a professional to ensure it is safe. It may be warm in the daytime but sometimes nights can get a little chilly and you may be glad you have the heating so the party can last a little longer.
